On Monday, April 28th there will be a Coaches Notebook available during practices for parents to communicate to the coaches questions, concerns and information relevant to their swimmer(s) for the coaches to know. This is the best way to communicate with our coaches so that they are free to coach during the hours they are at the pool yet are also current with communication between parent and coach.
At the back of the Coaches Notebook will be 5 tabs each labeled with the dates of our 5 regular season meets. You as the parent will be responsible for signing your child up for each meet the Monday prior to the meet. If your child is not signed up for the meet, arrives at the pool, then they will swim as an “exhibition” swimmer. For those parents who were with the team last year it is the same system we used for signing up for meet attendance and allowing our coaches to form strong relay teams. This is required for each meet they will be attending.
For example, our first meet is May 17th. All entries must be written into the Coaches notebook under the Meet date tab (May 17th) no later than Monday, May 12th. The child’s name, age and gender are the only items required. The Coaches choose the events the swimmers swim (unless you have indicated in a note to the Coach through the Coaches notebook specifying a specific event) as well as form the relay teams.
Each summer since 1975, the Seabrook Stingrays Swim Team has offered the youth of our community the opportunity to improve their swimming skills in an atmosphere of healthy competition with other swim teams from the surrounding areas. Children between the ages of 5 and 18 can enjoy this community supported activity. The Stingrays swim team continues to provide our youth with one of the few organized recreational outlets available during the summer.
