Post Season Meet Information
Howdy Stingrays!
We wanted to provide some details regarding post season events for Last Chance, Reserve, and Champ meets.
POST SEASON MEET QUALIFYING TIMES
Coaches have copies of the qualifying times for each age group. You can also click on the link below to access. At the end of each event, please ask the timers for your time and take that to the coaches to discuss if you’re near Reserve or Champ time. There are laminated copies of qualifying times in each of the mailbox bins at practice. Check the times on Hytek and the ribbons to see if you swimmer has made a qualifying time and if so, discuss with the coaches.
CHAMP MEET RELAYS
The coaches will be making relays for the Champ meet. Please keep in mind that your swimmer might be invited to swim in a relay even if they have not made an individual reserve or champ time. Each team in the league may enter one release for each relay event per gender and age group.

Last Chance Meet
Date: Monday, July 3rd
Time: 4:30 pm (Warmups Start) / 6:00 pm (Meet Starts)
Location: La Porte High School, 301 E Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, TX 77571
Meet Notes:
- Qualifying times is within 2 seconds of a reserve or champ time.
- There are no relays at this event, just individual events
- You MUST discuss and confirm attendance with the coaches. Please send Coach Gabby a direct message via SportsYou in a one-on-one chat.
- If you plan to go you MUST go. The Seabrook Stingrays team supports our swimmers and pays for each individual swimmer entry.
Reserve Meet
Date: Saturday, July 8
Time: 9:30 am Meet Start
Location: Clear Springs High School, 501 Palomino Lane, League City, TX 77573
Meet Notes:
- By invitation only through achieving a qualifying reserve time for individual event
- There are no relays at this event, just individual events
- You MUST discuss and confirm attendance with the coaches. Please send Coach Gabby a direct message via SportsYou in a one-on-one chat.
- If you have a qualifying time but know you will not be at the meet please let the coaches know ASAP.
Champ Meet
Date: Sunday, July 9
Time: 9:00 am Meet Start
Location: Clear Springs High School, 501 Palomino Lane, League City, TX 77573
Meet Notes:
- By invitation only through achieving a qualifying champ time for individual event
- We will be submitting relays for the Champ Meet
- You MUST discuss and confirm attendance with the coaches. Please send Coach Gabby a direct message via SportsYou in a one-on-one chat.
- If you have a qualifying time or have been invited about relay participation but know you will not be at the meet please let the coaches know ASAP.

FIRST HOME MEET THIS WEEK!
Howdy Stingrays!
This Saturday we are hosting our only swim meet of the season, as such there’s a lot more to coordinate and make happen so, please read this email carefully and in full as it has important information about the meet this weekend.
Also, please plan to stay for the ENTIRE meet this weekend. We need to show support for everyone on the team through the end of the meet and we need everyone’s help to break down the meet after we are done.

FAMILY PICNIC AND HOME MEET SETUP
Friday, June 9
7:00 – 8:45 pm
Bring your own picnic / food and hang with friends at the park prior to setting up for the meet. Set up will begin around 7:45 or 8:00 pm once we can access the pool. It takes about 45 minutes when we have a strong turnout of families there to help! The kids love to get in the pool and put in lane ropes so join us!
CONCESSION DONATIONS
Due by TOMORROW, Friday, June 9. Each family is responsible for bringing one drink item to practice to sell at our concession stand during the meet on Saturday. 100% of the proceeds go back to support our team and program. Please reference your swimmers last name below for assignments:
- A – I: One (1) 8-pack Gatorade
- J – R: One (1) 12-pack (12 oz cans) soda: Coke, Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Root Beer, Fanta Orange
- S- Z: One (1) 24-pack Water

p=. NOTE: If you are unable to volunteer or will not be in attendance, please reply to this email ASAP so that we can fill your spot. Reminder that ALL families are required to volunteer at least one shift during each meet, both home and away.
PARKING
Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the pool and the grass lot situated to the east of the pool, past the tree break. Street parking is not allowed on Hammer Street. Please see the below map for reference, as parking is limited in the lots next to the pool.
CONCESSIONS
There will be breakfast, snacks, sodas, and drinks available at the concessions stand and there will also be the Houston Made Burgers & More food truck arriving at 10 am, to serve lunch. Additionally, there will be the Gelu Italian Ice Baytown truck arriving at 10 am. They will be parked just outside of the pool area.
Payment can be made via cash, credit and other forms of contactless payment. The Stingrays receive 15% of all proceeds earned from the food trucks, so eat up!
SPECTATOR AREA
There is a grassy knoll next to the pool to watch your swimmer compete. Please do not set up chairs or other items in this area. Please also do not go into the ready area or pool deck unless you are working the meet as a volunteer or are a coach.
SETUP
All setup is outdoors. We highly recommend bringing tents, blankets, chairs, fans, sunscreen, and bug spray. Seabrook will be set up along the fence line towards the back entrance to the pool. You are welcome to bring coolers with your own drinks, snacks, etc. but please ensure to police and clean up your area.
SILENT AUCTION AND MINI-VENDOR FAIR
Please visit our mini vendor fair and our silent auction between heats or at the end of the day. Vendors will be on-site from 8 AM to Noon.

Silent auction guidelines:
- Bidding will begin at 9 a.m. and the last call will be announced during our event
- Auction items are priced based on their fair market value
- Bids must meet the minimum bidding increment requirement (or risk disqualification
- Bidding on an item multiple times is allowed
- All bids and sales are final
OTHER DETAILS
- Please make sure your swimmers bring plenty of water and electrolyte drinks to keep them hydrated during this meet it is going to be HOT on Saturday.
- Everyone should wear their Seabrook Stingrays swimsuits and caps during WARM UP and their RACES if you have them.
- Swimmers need to report to the coaches before they swim and get advice for their race. Swimmers also need to report back to coaches immediately after their race to get feedback.
- Please have your swimmer check with the coaches before leaving. For relays, when one kid isn’t there 3 other kids don’t get to swim. We know things come up but communicating with the coaches is CRITICAL.
- Bathrooms are located at the front entrance to the pool next to the concession stand.
- The splash pad, slide, and secondary pool are off limits to all swimmers, parents, and visitors, please do not enter these areas during the meet.
- There are no pets allowed inside of the pool gates.
- Please pick up all your trash and dispose of it accordingly.
Be sure to wear your Seabrook Stingrays team shirts so that you can recognize each other and of course, to show your STINGRAYS TEAM SPIRIT!

CHICK-FIL-A SPIRIT NIGHTS FUNDRAISER. Join us Monday, June 12th and Monday, June 26th at Chick-fil-A in Kemah (321 Marina Bay Drive, Clear Lake Shores, TX 77565). Please notify staff in either the drive thru or dining room you are there for the Seabrook Stingray spirit night when placing your order. A percentage of proceeds goes back to the team.
COACHES NOTEBOOK. There is a green coach’s notebook at practice every day. Parents and swimmers are welcome to fill it in if you have questions, comments, or concerns for the coaches to address.

“PHILL” THE BIN CLOTHING DRIVE CONTINUES! Dates: Friday, May 26 – Friday, June 23. Items should be clean and placed in plastic bags- we accept gently used Women’s, Children’s, Baby’s, Men’s clothing, linens and towels. Also will accept accessories: Purses, Backpacks, Handbags, Clutches, Tote Bags, Shoulder Bags, Laptop bags, Hats, Gloves, Ties, Scarves, Belts, and Wallets.

This Saturday we are attending our first swim meet of the 2023 summer season in Deer Park, and we know everyone is very excited! Please read this email carefully and entirely as it has important information about the meet this weekend along with volunteer assignments for parents!
MEET LOCATION:

TIMELINE: Saturday, June 3
- 6:45 am: Arrive to the pool for swimmer check-in with coaches and parent volunteer check-in
- 7:20 – 7:40 am: Visiting team warm-ups
- 7:40 am: Timers meeting (timers for both shifts & head timer must be present) by the blocks / Officials meeting in the coach’s office
- 7:45 am: Swimmers for events 1-8 to the ready area
- 8:00 am: Meet start
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MEET HOST
- Parking is by the tennis courts and by the softball stadium. No parking behind the pool. Cars will be towed. This is a mandatory requirement by the school district.
- The set-up is in the hallway-mall area indoors. The visiting team set up is past the natatorium doors. Please look for other Stingray families. You will enter the building via the doors by the tennis court and head down the hallway, you’ll see everyone set up.
- Spectators will be allowed in the stands to view races and there is no setup allowed in the spectator area of the pool for parents.
- Absolutely no food or drinks will be allowed in the ready/start area and deck.
- Only Coaches, Officials, scoring volunteers and team reps will be allowed in the Clerk area
- Breakfast, snacks and lunch will be available at the concession stand

OTHER DETAILS / TIPS
The host will not issue a heat sheet until Saturday. Once available you can help your young swimmer by writing their events, heats, and lanes on their arms with a sharpie. You will get this info when you check in on Saturday morning. PLEASE BE ON TIME!
Please make sure your swimmers bring plenty of water and electrolyte drinks to keep them hydrated during the meet. Healthy snacks are very important so swimmers can refuel between their races. Bring extra goggles, swim caps and swimsuits in case of any equipment malfunction.
Everyone should wear their Seabrook Stingrays swimsuits and caps during WARM UP and their RACES if you have them.

We’re one week closer to our first meet on June 3 and we’re impressed by what we’ve seen from everyone in practice! Few reminders for the upcoming week:
NO PRACTICE MONDAY! There’s no practice on Monday, May 29 due to the Memorial Day Holiday.
MORNING PRACTICES START NEXT WEEK! Today is the final day of afternoon practices as we shift to mornings next week, details for age groups are below:
- 13 & 14 and High Schoolers: 7:00 am – 7:55 am
- 9 & 10 and 11 & 12: 8:00 am – 8:55 am
- 8 & Under: 9:00 am – 9:45 am

2023 “Phill” The Box Clothing Drive
Time to clean out your closets and support the Stingrays! Let’s surpass our goal from last year and exceed 2,000 pounds of clothes to donate to those in need. Reach out to family, friends, and neighbors to bring clothing items to donate, there will be a bin located at the Seabrook Pool parking lot. The Stingrays receive funds based on total pounds of clothing collected.

- Last year we collected 1,088 pounds of clothing and received a check for $734.60
